Realtors® do care! The Salt lake Board of Realtors sponsors events to raise money throughout the year at these happenings real estate agents and their industry affiliates contribute their own money for the cause that is being sponsored. The Salt Lake Board of Realtors® recently presented two checks to local charity organizations. “The Christmas Box House” and “The Road Home” each was given $19,303.77 as reported in The Sept. 2014 issue of Salt Lake Realtor magazine.
The money came from the “Charity Gala” an event attended by more than 300 real estate professionals in July. It was a dinner which included a silent and live auction. This year the silent auction was done all through online bidding using our cell phones! The event has come along way since it’s first inception. It was originally held in the parking lot at the Board of Realtors. Now it is at an area luxury hotel in a ball room. It was fun to get dressed up and socialize with our peers all the while doing something good for someone else.
The Christmas Box International houses abused and neglected children while the Road Home offers temporary shelter to individuals and families who are homeless. Realtors also volunteer on a regular basis to these organizations doing other specific duties on site.
I am proud to be a part of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors and would like to thank all the members of the Salt Lake Board and the public who attend our charity functions. I would also like to thank the committees and volunteers who run the events. We couldn’t do it without dedicated professionals.
